cheese crisps, crackers, gluten free, grain free, celiac disease, diabetes, no carbsWe’re always on the lookout for low carbohydrate/ gluten free snacks living with both celiac disease and type 1 diabetes.  We were so happy about these tasty crisps by Kitchen Table Bakers that I thought I would share them with you too.

These crackers reminded me of the “vegetarian bacon” that I make for BLT’s.  I basically fry a piece or two of provolone in a pan until it is crispy on the bottom, flip it over to cook a little longer and add it to the lettuce and tomato – yummy fake bacon.

These crisps are crunchy like crackers, the jalapeno parmesan is my personal favorite – living in the southwest I’m partial to spicy.  The crisps are larger than a typical cracker and at 150mg of sodium per 3 crisps I could control my urge to eat the entire package.  Because these crisps are made of cheese they punch a pack of protein in a small package – 7 grams per 3 crisps.

They come in many flavors – Aged Parmesan, Rosemary Parmesan, Sesame Parmesan, Flax Seed Parmesan, Everything Parmesan, Italian Herb Parmesan, Garlic Parmesan, Jalapeno Parmesan.  The newest flavors are Chia Seed Parmesan and Caraway Seed Parmesan.

Made of 100% aged parmesan there’s no gluten, wheat, lactose or sugar – which is pretty impressive for a cracker.

They are available on line or at Whole Foods, Wegman’s or Fresh Market.
